Supplement to the Republic of Zambia Government Gazette dated Friday, 25th Febrnarv, 2005 GOVERNMENT OF ZAMBIA STATUTORY lNsrnuMENT No. 24 oF 2005 The Lands and Deeds Registry Act (Laws, Volume 12, Cap. 185) The Lands and Deeds Registry (Amendment) Regulations, 2005 IN EXERCISE of the powers contained in section ninety-two of the Lands and Deeds Registry Act, the following Regulations are hereby made: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the I.ands and Deeds Registzy ( Amendment) Regulations, 2005, and shall be read as one with the Lands and Deeds Registry Regulations, in these Regulations referred to as the principal Regulations. 2. The First Schedule to the principal Regulation is amended ( a) by the deletion of Category I and the substitution therefor of the following C.A'.IEGORY I Registration fees in respect of assignments, transfers and other similar documents shall be calculated on the value of the property at the rate of one per centum: Provided that the maximum fee payable shall not be more than two million kwacha; and (b) by the deletion of Category II and the substitution thereforof the following: CATEGORYII The fee charged under this category shall be payable in respect of documents relating to mortgages, debentures, charges, further charges, agriculture chazges, guarantees, covenants, floating charges and similar docwnents shall be calculated on the amount secured or guaranteed at the rate of one per centum: 63 Title Cap. 185 Amendment ofFi,st Schedule Copies of this Statutory Instroment can be obtained from the Government Printer.
