THE PLANT PROTECTION ACT. Statutory Instrument 31—2. The Plant Protection (Pests) Rules. (Under section 3 of the Act.) 1. Citation. These Rules may be cited as the Plant Protection (Pests) Rules. 2. Prohibition of cultivation of specified plants. The cultivation of the plants named in the Schedule to these Rules is prohibited throughout Uganda, and the plants shall be destroyed by uprooting and burning wherever they exist. Schedule. rule 2. Specified plants prohibited. 1. Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms (water hyacinth). 2. Datura stramonium (as defined in the Plant Protection (Pests Declaration) Instrument). History: S.I. 244-2.
