REGULATIONS (Made under section 4) THE FOOD (CONTROL OF OUALITY) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS. 199M 1. These Regulations '!lay be cited as the Food (Control of Ouality) (Amendments) Regulations. 1998. Food Regulation 16(1) is amended by deleting all words in that J.fygiene paragraph and substituting for them the words"Any person Regula- who commits an offence under these regulations shall be tionNs'N liable in the case of first offence, to a fine not less than oneG.. o. 64 uf 7/5/ hundred thousand shillings and in the case of a second offence 19K2 to a fine not less than three hundred thousand shillings. and in the case of a subsequent offence to a fine not less than five hundred thousand shillings". Regulation 9 is amended by deleting the words "fine not exceeding 10.000/· or imprisonment for a term.not exceeding five.years or both and substituting for them the words "fine not'less than five hundred thousand shillings or imprisonment to a term not exceeding five years or to both such fine and imprisonment". . Regulation 9 is amended by. deleting the words; "fine not exceeding 50,000/· and substituting for them the words; "fine not less than five hundred thousand shillings". Regulation 9 is amended by deleting the words; "fine not exceeding 50,000/· and substituting for them the words "fine not less than five hundred thousand shillings". Regulation 7 is amended by adding subregulation (5) to read 31 follows: "Imported food which is found to be unfit for human con sumption on inspection at port of entry shall not be allowed entry into the United Republic and' shall be returned to the exporting country at the expenses of the importer".
