2. Section 5 of the Principal Act is amended by — (i) deleting all the words beginning at the words “The Board shall” in line 2 of subsection (1) to the end of the subsection. (ii) deleting subsection (IA); (iii) inserting the following new subsections after subsection (1) — “(2) the Board shall have not more than 5 members. to No. 4 of 2002 Page 1 Section 3 Tonga Electric Power Board (Amendment) Act 2002 (3) His Majesty in Council shall appoint all the members of the Board, and any one of those members as Chairman, on the nomination of the Prime Minister in Cabinet. A member shall hold office for 3 years and shall be eligible for re- appointment.” (iv) re-numbering subsections (2) and (3) as subsections (4) and (5) respectively.
3. Section 7 of the Principal Act is repealed.
4. Section 8(3) of the Principal Act is amended by deleting the number “5” and substituting “3”. Passed by the Legislative Assembly this 10th day of July, 2002. to Page 2 No. 4 of 2002
