This Act may be cited as the Coco-de-mer Short title . (Management) (Amendment) Act, 2015. 222 . Amendment ofeap 37 Supplement to Official Gazette [19th November 2015] 2. The Coco-de-mer.(Management) Decree, 1978 is' hereby amended as follows (a) in section 8, by repealing the words "of RSOOO and to imprisonment for 2 years" and substituting therefor the words "not less than R25,000 and not exceeding R500,000 and to imprisonment for 2 years or to both . such fine and imprisonment"; (b) In section 15 (2), by repealing the words "of RSOOO and to imprisomnent. for 2 years" and substituting therefor the words "not less than R25,OOO and not exceeding RSOO,OOO > and to imprisomnent for 2 years or to both such fine and imprisonment"; (c) in section 23(5), by repealing the words "of R5000 and to imprisomnent for a term of2 years" and substituting therefor the words "not less than R25,OOO and not exceeding RSOO,OOO and to imprisomnent for 2 years or to both such fine and imprisomnent". (d) iIi. section 31, by repealing the words "of RSOOO and to imprisomnent for 2 years" and substitutfug therefor the words "not less than R25,OOO and not exceeding RSOO;OOO and to imprisomnent for 2 years or to both such fme and imprisomnent". (e) in section 35 (1), by repealing the words "of RSOOO and to imprisonment for 2 years" and substituting therefor the words "not less than R25,OOO and not exceeding RSOO,OOO and to imprisomnent for 2 years or to both such fine andimprisomnent". (g) in section 41, by repealing the words "of RSOOO or to imprisomnent for 2 years" and substituting therefor the' words "not less than R25,OOO and not exceeding RSOO,OOO and to imprisonment for 2 years or to both such fme and imprisomnent". (h) in section 42, by repealing the words "of RSOOO .or to imprisonment for 2 years" and . substituting therefor the words "not less than R25,OOO and not exceeding R500,OOO and to imprisomnent for 2 years or to both such fine and imprisomnent". , (i) in section 46, by repealing the words "of R5000 or to imprisomnent for 2 years" and substituting therefor the words. "not less than R25,OOO and not exceeding R500,OOO and to imprisomnent for 2 years or to both such fine and imprisomnent". G) in section 48 (2) (i) by inserting after paragraph (d) the foIiowingparagraph- . "(e) . for the protection of the whole of or any part of the coco-de-mer tree and its habitat.". 223 224 Supplement to Official Gazette [19th November 2015] (ii) by fe-numbering the existing paragraph (e) as paragraph (t). (iii) by repealing in paragraph (f) the words "ofR5000 and imprisonment of 2 years for such offence" and substituting therefor the words "not exceeding R20,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years".
