Fisheries (Notification of Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for Area/ Rohe Moana of Ngā Hapū o Taiamai ki Te Marangi) Notice 2018 Pursuant to regulation 10 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Director-General of the Ministry for Primary Industries gives the following notice. (2) The cancellation took effect at the end of 10 December 2017. Dated at Wellington this 5th day of March 2018. Explanatory note This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect. This notice is made under the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998 (the regulations). The notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. The notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua who are Ngā Hapū o Taiamai ki Te Marangi on behalf of Tauwhara Marae. The area/rohe moana is in the Bay of Islands and extends from Takou Bay to the Hau mi River mouth. Notice is given of the cancellation of the appointment of a Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for the area/rohe moana. The Minister of Fisheries cancelled the appointment at the re quest of Tauwhara Marae. The powers of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki are set out in the regulations. Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012. Date of notification in Gazette: 8 March 2018.
