Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for Area/ Rohe Moana of Ngāti Kuta-Patukeha) Notice (No 2) 2016 Pursuant to regulation 9 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Minister for Primary Industries gives the following notice. Contents Page 1 Title 1 2 Commencement 1 3 Customary food gathering area/rohe moana 1 4 Tangata whenua of area/rohe moana 1 5 Appointments 2 Notice 1 Title This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for Area/ Rohe Moana of Ngāti Kuta-Patukeha) Notice (No 2) 2016. 2 Commencement This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. 3 Customary food gathering area/rohe moana This notice applies to the customary food gathering area/rohe moana described in clause 4 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 4) 2012 (Gazette 2012, p 2737), which is an area from the Haumi River mouth to Taupiri Bay. 4 Tangata whenua of area/rohe moana The hapū specified in clause 5 of the Gazette notice referred to in clause 3 are the tangata whenua of the area/rohe moana. 2016/211 1 http://prd-lgnz-nlb.prd.pco.net.nz/pdflink.aspx?id=DLM268634 5 Appointments (1) The Minister for Primary Industries has appointed Titari Parkes and Alvin Re wha as Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for the area/rohe moana. Explanatory note This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect. This notice is made under the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998 and comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. This notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of tangata whenua represented by Ngāti Kuta-Patukeha. The area/rohe moana is an area from the Haumi River mouth to Taupiri Bay. Notice is given of the appointments of Titari Parkes and Alvin Rewha as additional Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki with effect from 26 July 2016. The Minister for Primary In dustries made the appointment at the request of Ngāti Kuta-Patukeha. The Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for a customary food gathering area/rohe moana may au thorise any individual to take fish, aquatic life, or seaweed for customary food gather ing purposes from within the area/rohe moana.
