The person in charge of trade cattle, entering any area to which these regulations have been applied from any place outside the State, shall drive all the cattle by the most direct cattle route to the nearest inspection station. 6. ( l) Where trade cattle have been purchased the person in charge thereof shall, before moving them out of the area where they are situate at the time of purchase. take them to the nearest inspection station within such area. and. if there be no inspection station, to the nearest control post: Provided that where an inspection station or control post in another area is nearer to the place in which the cattle are situate at the time of purchase, the cattle may be taken to that inspection station or control post~ as the case rnay be: '.rovided also that if there be no inspection station or control post in t~1at area such cattle may be taken to the nearest 111spection stat10n or control post. as the case may be, in some other area. A prescribed officer shall inspect all trade cattle brought to an inspection station or control post in accordance \\ i th regulations: .6 and 7. and the prescribed office, may. if he thinks fit. hrand or affix an~ identification mark to such catt le and. for the cure ur pn.!\ cnuon ol disease. may detain such cattle for the purposes or obscn a lion or treatment at such inspection station or control post. 9. (I) Trade cattle shall not be loaded on a raih,n) ,,agon. momr vehicle, river or ocean \'essel or on any ai re raft for transport fron I one area to another unless the owner of such cattle i<; in possession of a, eL~nnru} loading permit issued by the prescribed officer in respect of each consignment of trade cattle, such permi t shall be in the form set out in the First Schedule hereto and shall be valid for a spcci fied journe) on!~· (2) A veterinary loading permit shall not be issued unless the pre~cribed officer is satisfied that the provisions of these regulations in respect of ~rad~ cattle have been complied with and f urthcrmore that such cattle arc. m his opinion fet to travel. (2) Upon reporting the fact of the slaughter or a sale or sales to a po..,t or station the permit shall, in the cases of the slaughter or a sale or a part only of the cattle. be endorsed by the prescribed officer at the post or station with an endorsement showing the place and date of all sales. and the number of cattle for \\hich the permit continues to be valid, and in the case of the slaughter or a sale of all the cattle, the permit shall be retained by the prescribed offi cer at such post or station. 13. The person in charge of any trade cattle which, while in the process of movement from any place or area, dies of or shows symptoms of suff cring from any disease, shall report the death or illness of such cattle, as the case ma) be. to the prescribed officer on arrival at the first inspection station or control post at which he calls after such death or illness. 14. Any person who (a) fails to take trade cattle to an inspection station or control post or fails to take them by the most direct route as proYidcd by the (b) (c) (d) regulations; refuses or fails to obey the instructions of the prcscrihc-d officer regarding the inspection treatment or detention of zmimal~ in quarantine at such inspection station or control post: re~ioves trade cattle from an inspection station or control post wi thout having obtained a movement permit~ falls to produce a movement permit for in pcc1ion " hen r~quir~1.I to do so b · Ya prescribed officer: I I , . 1•. ~s t.
