FAUNA CONSERVATION RULES, 1965 (G.N.S. 26 of 1965) In exercise of the power~ conferred upon him by section 35 of the Fauna Conservation Ordinance. 1963. the Chief Game Warden has 11 /6:1 made the following rules: I. These rules may be cited as the Fauna Conservation Rules. 1965. 2. In these Rules "Licensee" means a person to whom a licence, permit or certificate has been issued. 3. A licence. permit or certificate issued under the Ordinance shall be in the appropriate form prescribed in the Schedule. 4. A licence. permit or certificate must be produced on demand for inspection or endorsement by any authorised officer. 5. Any licence, permit or certificate issued by a game officer does not absolve the licensee from obtaining any other licence, permit or certificate which may be required under the Ordinance or any other written law. 6. The licensee must hold a valid permit or licence under the Firearms and Explosives Ordinance to possess and use a gun or rifle 17/56. within the area specified on a licence issued by a game officer. 7. In the event of the death of any animal or bird kept under a permit issued by a game officer. the licensee shall forthwith notify the officer from whom the permit was obtained of such death, and shall, if so r~quired deliver without charge the cleansed skeleton of any animal or the body of any bird to such officer. 8. In a Forest Game Licence, only one of the following animals may be included on payment of the prescribed fee: (a) one Sambhur deer; (b) one Barking deer; or (c) one Mouse deer. 9. No elephant or banteng shall be hunted or shot at with a shot­ gun of any description or a rifle below .350 calibre. 10. No person shall between the hours of sunset and sunrise enter or land on any turtle farm constituted under section 33 (I) (b) of the Ordinance except under the authority 3:nd in accordance with the con­ ditions of a written permit from a Game Warden.
