Mauritius Cane Industry Authority (Costs of Transport of Canes for Small Planters) Regulations 2025 GN No. 60 of 2025 Governtnent Gazette of Mauritius No. 62 of 26 July 2025 THE MAURITIUS CANE INDUSTRY AUTHORITY ACT Regulations made by the Minister under section 63 of the Mauritius Cane Industry Authority Act 1. These regulations may be cited as the Mauritius Cane Industry Authority (Costs of Transport of Canes for Small Planters) Regulations 2025. 2. In these regulations "Act" means the Mauritius Cane Industry Authority Act; "road rate" means the lower rate for refund of transport costs per tonne per kilometre as set out in the Schedule. 3. For the purpose of section 40(3A) of the Act, the costs of transport, per tonne for the crop year 2025, for a small planter shall - (a) for a distance not exceeding 6 kilometres, be computed by applying a factor of 1 .75 on the lower road rate of the corresponding amount specified in the Schedule for the preceding crop year; (b) for a distance of not less than 6 kilometres nor more than 15 kilometres, be computed by applying a factor of 2.00 on the lower road rate of the corresponding amount specified in the Schedule for preceding crop year; (c) for a distance of not less than 16 kilometres nor more than 20 kilometres, be computed by applying a factor of 2.25 on the lower road rate of the corresponding amount specified in the Schedule for preceding crop year, and shall be as set out in the Schedule.
