S.L. 549.29. 1. The title of these regulations is the Waste Management (Landfill) (Amendment) Regulations, 2019, and these regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Waste Management (Landfill) Regulations, hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations". Amends regulation 2 of the principal regulations. 2. In regulation 2 of the principal regulations immediately after the definition "operator" there shall be added the following new definition: " "treatment" means the physical, thermal, chemical or biological processes, including sorting, that change the characteristics of the waste in order to reduce its volume or hazardous nature, facilitate its handling or enhance recovery;".
