D.-O. 67/87 AN ACT TO AMEND THE IRRIGATION ORDINANCE BE it enacted by the Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic (if Sri Lanka as fo.1Jows : 1. This Act may be cited as the Irrigation (Amendment) Act, No. 32 of 1990. 2. Section 78A of the Irrigation Ordinance (hereinafter re:erred to as the" principal enactment") inserted by Act No. 48 of 1968 and amended by Act No. 23 of 1983, is hereby further amended in subsection (3) of that section by the substitution fer the words" Magistrate's Courts", of the v.ords .' Small Claims Court ". 3. Section 118 of the principal enactment is hereby amended In subsection (1) of that sectlo-i by the substitution for the definition of " Gover nmcnt Agent". of the following definition ; , "Government Agent" includes an Additional Govern ment Agent, an Assistant Government Agcnt. Secretary to the Minister of the Board of Ministers of a Province in charge of the subject of Irrigation and Divisional Secretary of a Provincial Council; '. 4. In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala and Tamil texts of this Act, the Sinhala text shall prevail. Short title. Amendment of section 78A of Chapter 453.
