SAINT LUCIA ___________ No. 20 of 2024 AN ACT to amend the Copyright Act, Cap. 13.07; Geographical Indications Act, Cap. 13.14; Industrial Designs Act, Cap. 13.29; Layout Designs (Topographies) of Integrated Circuits Act, Cap. 13.16; Protection Against Unfair Competition Act, Cap. 13.28 and Trade Marks Act, Cap. 13.30. [ 23rd December, 2024 ] BE IT ENACTED by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Assembly and the Senate of Saint Lucia, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 780 No. 20 ] Intellectual Property and Unfair Competition [ 2024 (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Intellectual Property and Unfair Competition (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act, 2024. Amendment of the Copyright Act, Cap. 13.07
2. The Copyright Act, Cap. 13.07 is amended — (a) in section 2, by deleting the definition of the word “Minister”; (b) by deleting the words “the Minister” wherever it occurs and by substituting the words “the Attorney General”. Amendment of the Geographical Indications Act, Cap. 13.14
3. The Geographical Indications Act, Cap. 13.14 is amended — (a) in section 2, by deleting the definition of the word “Minister”; (b) by deleting the words “the Minister” wherever it occurs and by substituting the words “the Attorney General”. Amendment of the Industrial Designs Act, Cap. 13.29
4. The Industrical Designs Act, Cap. 13.29 is amended — (a) in section 2, by deleting the definition of the word “Minister”; (b) by deleting the words “the Minister” wherever it occurs and by substituting the words “the Attorney General”. Amendment of the Layout Designs (Topographies) of Integrated Circuits Act, Cap. 13.16
5. The Layout Designs (Topographies) of Integrated Circuits Act, Cap. 13.16 is amended — (a) in section 2, by deleting the definition of the word “Minister”; (b) by deleting the words “the Minister” wherever it occurs and by substituting the words “the Attorney General”. 781 No. 20 ] Intellectual Property and Unfair Competition [ 2024 (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act Amendment of the Trade Marks Act, Cap. 13.30
6. The Trade Marks Act, Cap. 13.30 is amended — (a) in section 2, by deleting the definition of the word “Minister”; (b) by deleting the words “the Minister” wherever it occurs and by substituting the words “the Attorney General”. Amendment of the Protection Against Unfair Competition Act, Cap. 13.28
7. The Protection Against Unfair Competition Act, Cap. 13.28 is amended — (a) in section 2, by deleting the definition of the word “Minister”; (b) by deleting the words “the Minister” wherever it occurs and by substituting the word “the Attorney General”.
