SAINT CHRISTOPHER AND NEVIS No. 38 of 2009 AN ACT to amend the Solid Waste ManagementAct, No. II ot2009. [Published 23''; December 2009. Extra-Ordinary Gazette No. 63 of2009.J HISIT .l<.:NAC"U':L> by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the National Assembly of Saint Christopher and Nevis, and by the authority ofthe same as follows: 1. This Act may be cited as the Solid Waste Management (Amendment) Act, 2009. 2. In this Act, "Ace means the Solid Waste Management Act, No. 11 of2009. Short title Interprctation. 3. The Act is amended in section 5 as follows: Amendment 0 f section 5. (a) by replacing in subsection (1) paragraph (g) thereof as follows: "(g) one member representing a worker's organization;" (b) by inserting in subsection (1) immediately after paragraph (g) two new paragraphs as follows: "(h) one member nominated by the Minister; (i) the General Manager of the Corporation who shall act as Secretary to the Board.". (e) by inserting immediately after subsection (5) the following new subsection: .. (5). The members of the Board shall be remunerated on such terms as shall be prescribed in Regulations by the Minister.". 4. The Act is amended in section 14(2) by replacing it as follows: Arnendn.ent of section 1.1 'XlI Alist ofcniicrrron zoucs to bC" prescribed in Rc~ulations by the Minister. Amendment to section 49. Amendment to section 56. Insertion of new seclion 2 Solid Waste Management (Amendment) Act, 2009 - 38. 5. The Act is amended in section 49 by replacing the word "Inspector" with the word "officer". 6. The Act is amended in section 56 by replacing the expression "Second Schedule" with the expression "Schedule 5". 7. The Act is amended by inserting a new section 56Aas follows: "Amendment of Schedules. 56A. The Minister may by Order amend the Schedules." . Insertion of new 8. The Act is amended by inserting immediately after Schedule 4. the fullowiug new Schedule: Schedule 5. Environmental levy $4.05", CURTIS A.
