THE SEITLED LAND ACT The Settled Land Act (Increase in Jurisdiction ofResident Magistrates) Order, 2013 In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Minister by section 54(9) of the Settled Land Act and ofevery other power hereunto enabling, the following Order is hereby made: 1. This Order may be cited as the Settled Land Act (Increase in Jurisdiction ofResident Magistrates) Order, 2013, and shall be read and construed as one with the Settled Land Act (hereinafter referred to as "the Act") and all amendments thereto. 2. Section 54(8) ofthe Act is amended by deleting the words "four hundred and fifty thousand", wherever they appear, and substituting therefor, in each case, the words "two million". GORDON HOuss., " .rtNGSTON. , lVIa ,rlJt,l THE SETTLED LAND ACT Tbe Settled Land Act (Increase in Jurisdiction of Resident Magistrates) Order, 2013 Resolution WHEREAS by virtue ofsection 54(9) of the Settled Land Act (hereinafter referred to as "the Act") the Minister may, by order subject to afftnnative resolution, increase the monetary jurisdictional level of the Resident Magistrates Courts under section 54(8) of the Act: AND WHEREAS on the IS ~ of ~"",o....rj ,2013, the Minister made the Settled Land (Increase in Jurisdiction ofResident Magistrates) Order, 2013: NOW mEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by this Honourable House ofRepresentatives as follows: 1. This Resolution may be cited as the Settled Land Act (Increase in Jurisdiction ofResident Magistrates) Order, 2013 Resolution. 2. The Settled Land (Increase in Jurisdiction ofResident Magistrates) Order, 2013 is hereby afftnned.
