[ 13th December, 1974 ] BB IT ENACTED by The Queen's Most Excellent -Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Representatives of Jamaica, and by the authority of the same, as follows: I-This Act may be cited as the Parishes Water Supply Short title (Amendment) Act, 1974, and shall be read and construed =~~~li~~, as one with the Parishes Water Supply Law (hereinafter Cap, 270. referred to as the principal Law) and all amendments thereto. 2-Section 24 of the principal Law is hereby repealed and Repeal and the following section substituted therefor- ~fP!:~li~;~nl "Free iupply 24-The Parish Councils in the several 24 of ~~~ ~~~ by Parish parishes of this Island, in charge of public Law. I' h b d 'fwater supp res, are ere y empowere , 1 1 lit! t'urishes IVtltt'T Supply (Amendment) Act. l'iN .nd tof on 2S rinci Law. d of n 26 ncipa' they thick fit, and subject to such orders as they may make (a) to supply water, free of water rates or other charge for the same, in any area by any means other than service pipes; and (b) to supply water at cost by means of service pipes to public educational institutions offering primary educa tion as defined in the Education Act, 1965.u • 3-(1) Section 25 of the principal Law is hereby amended in the following respects (a) by inserting therein immediately after the words "to supply" the words "at cost"; and (b) by deleting all the words appearing after the word "water" and substituting therefor the words "to public educational institutions offering primary education as defined in the Education Act, 1965 in the parishes of Kingston and Saint Andrew which are within the limits of their water service". (2) Nothing in subsection (1) shall be considered as implying that the marginal note is to be regarded as being part of the principal Law. 4-Section 26 of the principal Law is hereby repealed.
