In exercise of the pOwer conferred by s~ction 18 of the J\1izora m Water Supplies (Control) Act, 2004 (No.1 I of 2"(04), the Governor of Mizoram is pleased to make the following Rules to amend the Mizoram Water Su!,plies (Control) Rules, 2006 issued under Notification No.B. 16012/1/2001-PHE dated bth May, 2006 and published in the Mizoram Gazette, Extra ordinary issue No. 116 dated 11th May, 2006, namely : 1. Short title, extent and commencement 1) These rules may be called the Mizoram Water Supplies (Control) ( Amendment) Rules, 2008. 2) It sha II have the like extent as the Princlp,d Rules. 3) It shaH come into force from the date of its publication in the Mizoram Gazette. 2. In the Miloram Water Supplies (Control) Rules, 2006 for sub-rule (24) of rule 7 the following sub-rule shall be ~ub~tituted namely: "(24) if water-meter h lost Of out of order due to some defect, and if the defect is not in the nature of a manufacturing defect, tl1.:n a flat rate of Rs. 200/- per month per house water connection or a Yerdg~ of the la3t three months whichever is higher shall b~ charged until and ualess tbe water meter is replaced by the owner of the house having water conn-:ctlOn or the consumer, as the case may be."
