Dell i, the ue, Augu.ot, 2001 C.s.R. 6OO(E).- ln exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6 and 2.5 of the Envronmeni:-(Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), the central Government hereby makes 4 TIIEGAZETTEOFTNDIA ; EXTRAORDINAKY [PARI 11-- Sec.3(i)J the fo llowing rul es further to amend the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, namely: 1. ( I ) These rules may be called the Environment (Protection) Seventh Amendment Rules, 2008. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication In the Official Gazette. 2. All monitored values shall be corrected to 110/0 oxygen on dry basis. 1 II. The CO. concentration in ta il gas shall not be less tha n 7%. m. In case, halogenated organic waste 5 less then 1% by weight in j input waste, all the fadlitics in singie chamber mc rere toes shall be designed SO as to achieve a minim um temperature of ll00"C. in the Incinerator. For fluidized bed technology Incinerator, temperatu re shall be maintained at 95O"C. lv. In case halogenated organic waste is more t han 1% by weq ht in input waste, waste shall be incinerated only in twin chamber incinerators and all the facilities shall be designed to achieve a minimum temperature of llOOcC in seconderv combustion cnember with a gas residence time in secondary combustior. cham ber not less than two seconds. v. Scrubber meant for saubbing emissions shi! l! not be used as coencter. 1 vi . lndneration plants shall be operated (combustion chambers) with such temperature, retention time and turbulence, as to achieve Total Organic Carbon (TOe) content in the slag and bottom ashes less than 3%, and their loss on ignition Is less than 5% of the dry weight. vii. The lnclnerators snell height i. have a dumnev of atleast thirty metre B.VVa~ater I Wastewater (S01Jbber water and floor washings) shan be-I discharged into receiving water conform ing to the norms prescribed under Schedule VI: General Standards for Discharge of Environment Poliutions (Part A: Effluents) noti fied under the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, ii.
