No. 346/2008 — Wildlife (Wild Mammals) (Open Seasons) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 2008. S.I. No. 346 of 2008 WILDLIFE (WILD MAMMALS) (OPEN SEASONS) (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) ORDER, 2008. Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in “Iris Oifigiúil” of 2nd September, 2008. The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Sections 8(2) and 25 of the Wildlife Act, 1976 (No. 39 of 1976), and the Heritage (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 2002 ( S.I. No. 356 of 2002 ) hereby orders as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Wildlife (Wild Mammals) (Open Seasons) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 2008. 2. In this order the “Principal Order” means the Wildlife (Wild Mammals) (Open Seasons) Order, 2005 (S.I. No. 550 of 2005) as amended by the Wildlife (Wild Mammals) (Open Seasons) (Amendment) Order, 2008 ( S.I. No. 27 of 2008 ). 3. The Schedule to the “Principal Order” is amended by substituting for the final entry relating to the Muntjac deer the following:— “ Muntjac Deer The period beginning on the 1st day of September in each year and ending on the 31st day of August in the year immediately Shooting with firearms Throughout the State S.I. No. 346/2008 — Wildlife (Wild Mammals) (Open Seasons) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 2008. file:///D/HTML/ire89246.htm[15.01.2025 17:59:12] following that year. ”. The effect of this Order is to include a 12 month hunting season for muntjac deer by amending the Wildlife (Wild Mammals) (Open Seasons) Order, 2005 (S.I. No. 550 of 2005). © Government of Ireland.
