No. 678 of 2016 EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (SEED OF OIL PLANTS AND FIBRE PLANTS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2016. I, MICHAEL CREED, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communi ties Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Implementing Directive (EU) 2016/11 of 5 January 20161 and Commission Implementing Directive (EU) 2016/317 of 3 March 20162, hereby make the fol lowing regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) (Amendment) Regulations 2016. 2. The European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) Regu lations 2003 (S.I. No. 280 of 2003) are amended by substituting in— (a) Regulation 2(1) for the definition of “EC Directive” (as amended by the European Communities (Seed of Oil Plants and Fibre Plants) (Amendment) Regulations 2005 (S.I. These Regulations amend Council Directive 2002/57/EC on the marketing of seed of oil and fibre plants by adjusting the minimum varietal purity of the seed. These Regulations also amend Annexes IV and V to Council Directive 2002/57/EC on the marketing of seed of oil plants and fibre plants.
