No.313 of 2006 European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports of Avian Products from Romania) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 I, Mary Coughlan, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Decision 2006/396/EC1 of 2 June 2006, hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports of Avian Products from Romania) (Amendment) Regulations 2006. 2. The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports of Avian Products from Romania) Regulations 2006 (S.I No. 71 of 2006) are amended by (a) the substitution, for the definition of “Commission Decision” in regulation 2(1), of " 'Commission Decision" means Commission Decision 2005/710/EC2 as amended by Commission Decision 2006/23/EC3 of 20 January 2006, Commission Decision 2006/24/EC4 of 20 January 2006, Commission Decision 2006 2006/321/EC5 of 28 April 2006 and 2006/396/EC of 2 June 2006' "; GIVEN under my Official Seal, 16th June 2006 Mary Coughlan Minister for Agriculture and Food 1 OJ No. L152, 07.06.2006, p 36 2 OJ No. L269. 14.10.2005, p 42 3 OJ No. L17, 21.01.2006, p 27 4 OJ No L17, 21.01.2006, p30 5 OJ No L118, 03.05.2006, p18 3 EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) This Order amends S.I No 71 of 2006 and gives effect to Commission Decision 2006/396/EC of 2 June 2006 concerning certain protective measures with regard to highly pathogenic avian influenza poultry in Romania.
