CHAPTERI GENERALPROVlSIONS Article 1 What is meant in this MinisterRegulation by: 1. Food is anything originating from biological and water resources, either processed or not, allo cated as food or drink for the consumption of man, including supplements of food, food raw material, and other substances used in the pro cess ofpreparation, processing, and/or produc ing food or drink. 2. Food container made of plastic, hereinafter re ferred to as food container, is a substance used to contain and/or wrap food, either in touch di rectly with the food or not, made of plastic ma terial. 3. Food tare logo, hereinafter referred to as logo, is a sign indicating that a food container is safe to use on food. 4. Recycle code is a sign indicating that a food con tainer may be re-cycled. 5. Business News8031/11-15-2010 OfAPTERD INQ.US[ONOFLOGOAND RECYCLE CODE Article 2 (1) Every food container traded domestically, origi nating from domestic or import production must be included with a logo and recycle code. (2)The logo referred to in paragraph (1) consists of elements of food tare sign and/or state ment showing that the container is safe to pack food. (3) The recycle code referred to in paragraph (1) consists of: a. Indicatorof the type ofplastic raw material; and b. Indicator that itmay be recycled. (4) The logo and recycle code referred to in para graphs (2) and (3) are as stated in the attach ment to this Minister Regulation. (5) Size of the logo and recycle code referred to in paragraph (1) shall be conformed to the size of 0 food package and it must be visible. Article 3 (1) The inclusion of logo and recycle code on food containers as meant in Article 2, shall use In donesian language clearly and easily under stood. (2) Inclusion of logo and recycle code on food con tainers as meant inArticle Zparagraphs (Z)and 13A (3) shall be made as such so that it won't stick off easily from the container, faded or dam aged, and shall be placed on easily seen partof a food container. (3) In a situation where the inclusion of logo and· recycle code on food containers Is impossible, the indusion shall be madeonasecondary~. age or a separate manual. Artlc:le4 Every business performer producing food containers has the obligation to: a. proVide true information on the type of plastic raw material used for a food container; and b. include the logo and recycle code referred to in Article 2 on every food container. otAPTERm MANAGEMENTANDSUPERVISlON Artide5 The Industry Manager DireCtor General has theobligation to exerdse management and control on the execution of this Minister Regulation. CHAPTERIV Q.OSINGPROV.ISlONS Artide9 TbisMlnlster Regulation commences to c:ome to effect six (6) months from the date of enact ment, except for re-used food containers already circulating on the market where it is effective two (2) years from the date of enactment.
