2 CHAPTER I GENERAL TERvtS AND DEFINITIONS Artlcle 1 In this Presidential recision, the rreaning of t errns used shall be as follows : a. "Agriculture" incltrles all activities anvIowed an t ne cul.t i.vat i on , production and marketing of crops. c. "Minister" means the MiJlister 01 Agriculture. d. "Seed Marketing" refers to the transport, distribution and sale of seed and incllrles stcraqe of seed in transit and at the rnar ke t place. e. "Certification of Seed" rreans the certification in such forms as my be prescribed that the rnr.l t ap.Li.cat i on , production, and distribution of seed lot was in accordance with the procedures, regulations and standards promulgated by the Department of Agriculture. f. "Irrport or Inportation" ITeam; bringing into Indonesia seed fran a place outside Indonesia. g. "Kind" means one or rmre related species or subspecies wrii.ch smgly or collectively is known by one corrron name; for exarrpIe paddy, corn, cabbage, orange. h. "Variety" means a subdiVlSion or kind which is cnaracte r.ized by plant, growth, fl~r, fruit, seed, or other characteristlcs by which it can be differentiated, fran other sorts of the sarne kind. i. "Registration" means the official listing of persons, f i.rrns , or agencies involved in seed market ing. 3 j. "Label" rreans the display of wrltten, printed or graphic infornation on seed quaI .i t y and source aft .ixed tCJ or acccrspany inc any seed lot whetter in bulk or in containers. k. "Seed Lot" or Lot of Seed" rreans a definite quant i.r v of seed every protion or container of which is uniforrn for t he qua.l i ty factors represented on the label within perrni.t.ed tolerances. 1. Estab1islTrent of mirurum quality standards for seed offered for sale, am minimum sizes of seed lots. d. Such procedures and actions as are necessary for the ef f ect i ve implementations an;j enforcement of seed marketing regulations. Article 3 4 Art acIe 3 1. Establishing fees as may be necessary for services provided to seed procedures, is promulgated by the Hinister. CHAPTER IV srANDARDS FUR IMPORTED SEED Article 5 The Minister is hereby errpowered to establish reasonable quality st'andards for inported seed, taking into account prov i s i ons as are already in effect under the Plant OJarantlile RegulatlOl1S ( Act No.2 year 1961 ). Article 6 5 Article 6 In e st.ab.Li.ah.inq minimum quality stardarcs for Jrrponed seed the Minister will courisul.t with the Nat.ional Seed Board and other related agencies as deemed necessary. CHAPTER V TRANSITIOt~ PRJvISI~! Article 7 All matters not sufficiently covered in this Presidential Lecis.lo[j shall be determined by the Minister.
