1. This Act may be cited as the Radio-Active Minerals Act. 9. The Minister may. by order from time to time alter. vary or in any manner amend the Schedule.

10. (1) Bvt1ry('CN0nwho- (a) not being the bolder of a licence, prospects for or mines, or attempts to prospect for or mine, any radio•active mineral in any part of Guyana; or · (b) being tho holder of a lKCtlcc prospcota for or mine:a, or Radio-Active Minerals Cap, 65:04 5 attempts to prot.pect for or mit\e, any radio~aetive mineral in any part of Guyana in contravention of any term or condition of his licence, or otherwise than in accordance with any term or condition theteoft or (c) being the holder of a Jkcncc, fa.ila to comply wjth any of the requirements of section 4; or (d) not being the holder of a permit, exports or attempts to export from Guyana any radio-active mineral; or (•) being the holder of a permit, exports or attempta to export from Guyana any radio-active mineral in contra• ventioo of any term or condition of his permit, ot otherwise than in accordance with an.v term or condition thereof: or (n obtains, or attempts to obtain, a licence or permit by means or any false statement or representation; or (g) not being the holder of a licence, discovers a radio- active Jllino,•I in Guyana ond fail a: to comply with any of the requirements of section 8; shall be liable on summary con- viction to • fine of live thousand dollars and to imprisonmmt for twelve months. (2) The eourt before which any person is convicted of an offence uoder subsection (!) shall order the forfeiture to the State of any radio..a.ctive :mmeral or prospecting or mining apparatus d«ivod ftom, or employed in tho commis,!on of, all)' act in rospect of'which ,ucb person was convicted.

11. Any mineral containing uranium or thorium and, in particular and without p~udiq,o to th• ~erdity of thi11:parqraph, the •ubstance, herein- after set out in this schedule,

Seoonda:ry uranium minerals other than torbemite and autuoite, including rotbcrford.ine. uranite, ura.nopbane, gum.mite, thorogummite, uranocircite., kasolite, ~ueffl.ite, and other silicates, hydrate&i carbon- ates, phosphates or arsenates of uranium. S. Camotite and tyuyamun.ite and .related uranium-beating vanadatc om.
