THE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-EIGHTH ACT OF THE PARLIAMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA ENTI1lJ!D 11IE RENTS (STABILIZATION) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1963 AN ACT to amend the Rents (Stabilization) Act. 1962 DATE OP ASSENT: 22nd March, 1963 BE rr ENACTED by the President and the National Assembly ill this present Parliament assembled as follows: 1. For the purposes of the Rents (Stabimation) Act, 1962 (Act 109) it is hereby declared that that Act. (a) shall not apply to any land, (i) acquired absolutely as a freehold; (n) which has been cultivated or farmed before any grant, not being a freehold grant, was made in ~peel of that land; (b) shall apply to any )and, (i) vutt.-d in the President, , (ii) subject to the Administration of Lands Act, 1962 (Act 123), other than Kumasi Town Janch; Act 168 Act 168 Renu (Stabilization) (Amendment) Act. 1963 (iii) acquired by any person as a freehold land but leased or otherwise granted to any other person for the purposes of farming; (iv) acquired by way of lease or otherwise for the purpose of farming; (v) acquired under customary law by a subject of a stool or any other person and leased or other wise transferred by the subject or that person to any other person for the purposes of fanning. 2. Any action or proceedings arising under the Rents (Stabiliza tion) Act. 1962 (Act IOCJ) and pending before any court of com petent jurisdiction shall. on the Presidential Assent to this Act. abate. 3. This Act shall be deemed to have come into operation at the same time as the Rents (Stabilization) Act, 1962 (Act 109). Printed by the Government Printin• Department. Accra.
