Non-Biodegradable Waste Control (Plastic Bags) Order 2018 A 293 SRO. 19 GRENADA STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS NO. 19 OF 2018 The MinisTer in exercise of The powers conferred on hiM by secTion 3 (2) of The non-biodegradable wasTe conTrol acT, no. 9 of 2018 hereby Makes The following order– (Gazetted 14th September, 2018). 1. Citation. This Order may be cited as the– NON-BIODEGRADABLE WASTE CONTROL (PLASTIC BAGS) ORDER, 2018. 2. Definitions. In this Order– “Act” means the Non-Biodegradable Waste Control Act, No. 9 of 2018; “plastic shopping bags” means any single-use shopping bag with handles and made of plastic. 3. Designation of plastic shopping bags. For the purposes of the Act, a plastic shopping bag is a non-biodegradable product. 4. Transitional provisions.—(1) Section 4 (1) of the Act shall apply with respect to plastic shopping bags from the 1st day of February, 2019. (2) Section 5 (1) of the Act shall apply with respect to plastic shopping bags from the 1st day of December, 2019. (3) Section 6 (1) of the Act shall apply with respect to plastic shopping bags from the 1st day of February, 2020.
