ROSS FINNIE A member of the Scottish Executive St Andrew's House, Edinburgh 24th November 2003 EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations amend the provisions of the Pig Carcase (Grading) Regulations 1994. The 1994 Regulations provide for the administration and enforcement of the Community system of grading pig carcases established by Council Regulation (EEC) No. 3220/84 (O.J. No. L 301, 20.11.84, p.1) as amended, the detailed rules for which are set out in Commission Regulation (EEC) No. 2976/85 (O.J. No. L 285, 25.10.85, p.39) and Commission Decision 88/234/EEC (O.J. No. L 105, 26.4.88, p.15), as amended. These Regulations, by adding a reference to a new Commission Decision (Commission Decision 2003/750/EC (O.J. No. L 271, 22.10.2003, p.24)), authorise a new method of grading the composition of pig carcases by using the apparatus known as "fully automatic ultrasonic carcase grading" ("AUTOFOM") and withdraw authorisation for use of the apparatus known as "Ultra FOM". Use of AUTOFOM is in addition to the other methods specified in Commission Decision 88/234/EEC, as amended. No Regulatory Impact Assessment has been produced for these Regulations. http://www.scotland-legislation.hmso.gov.uk/legislation/scotland/ssi2003/20030565.htm#note1 http://www.scotland-legislation.hmso.gov.uk/legislation/scotland/ssi2003/20030565.htm#note2 http://www.scotland-legislation.hmso.gov.uk/legislation/scotland/ssi2003/20030565.htm#note3 The Pig Carcase (Grading) Amendment (Scotland) Regulations 2003 file:///D/HTML/uk47796.htm[16.01.2025 11:44:33] Other Scottish Statutory Instruments | UK Statutory Instruments | Home | Her Majesty's Stationery Office We welcome your comments on this site © Crown copyright 2003 Prepared 3 December 2003 Notes: [1] 1972 c.68; section 2(2) was amended by the Scotland Act 1998 (c.46), Schedule 8, paragraph 15(3).
