Rotuma (Amendment) Act 1998 FIJI ROTUMA (AMENDMENT) ACT 1998 ACT NO. 43 OF 1998 I assent K. K. T. MARA President [17 September 1998] [L.S] AN ACT TO AMEND THE ROTUMA ACT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Fiji Islands Short title 1. This Act may be cited as the Rotuma (Amendment) Act 1998. Regulations 2. Section 16 of the Rotuma Act (Cap. 122) is amended (a) in subsection (1) by inserting after "may" the words "subject to the approval of the Minister,"; (b) by repealing subsection (2) and substituting "(2) Regulations made under subsection (1) may prescribe penalties for breach of the regulations not exceeding a fine of $2,000 and imprisonment for 12 months.". Approval and commencement of regulations 3. Section 20 of the Rotuma Act is repealed. Passed by the House of Representatives this 10th August, l998.
