Page2278 PROCLAMATION NO. 35712003 A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE BASEL PROCTOCOL WHEREAS, the fifth meeting of the conference of the parties to the Basel Convention, held on 10 th December, 2000, Adopted the Protocol on Liability and Compensation Damage Resulting from Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal; WEHEREAS, the House of Peoples' Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia ratified the Basel Protocol at its session held on the 3rd day of July, 2003, 0h.Tf-kf &....e..t.l\'I! Responsibility of the Environmental Protection Authority The Environmental Protection Authority is hereby authorized to take, in cooperation with the appropriate Federal, Regional and City Government Organs, actions necessary to implement the Basel Protocol. 4. Effective Date This Proclamation shall enter into force as of the 3rd day of July, 2003.
