T1:9°0e f;~ <f>1 Hif1?; ftDllJCD- f'llfA fl1ii17i1 "'17i7if Of:*A :: ,,~ 'P ,;J U . p. 2.30 mt nee CONVENTION AMENDMENT WHEREAS, the third meeting of the conference of the parties of the Basel Convention held on 22ru1 September, 1995 adopted the amendment made to the Basel Convention; WHE~AS, the House of Peoples' Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Ratified the Basel Convention Amendment at its session held on the 3rd day of July, 2003; NOW, THEREFORE, in accordance with Article 55 (1) and (12) of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, it is hereby Proclaimed as follows: 1. Short Title This Proclamation may be cited as the ''Basel Conven tion Amendment Ratification Proclamation No. 356/2003." 2. Responsibility of the Environmental Protection Authority The Environmental Protection Authority is hereby authorized to take, in cooperation with the appropriate Federal, Regional and City government organs, actions necessary to implement the Basel Convention to im plement the Basel Covention Amendment. 4. Effective Date This Proclamation shall enter into force as of the 3rd day of July, 2003.
