Solid Waste Management (Amendment) Act No. 3 of 2021

2021 SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT 3 (AMENDMENT) COMMONWEALTH OF DOMINICA ACT No. 3 OF 2021. I assent CHARLES A. SAVARIN President 30th April, 2021 AN ACT TO AMEND THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT, CHAP. 42:06. (Gazetted 4th May, 2021.) BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dominica as follows: 1. This Act may be cited as the – SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2021. Short title. LS 9 2021 SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT 3 (AMENDMENT) 10 2. In this Act the Solid Waste Management Act is referred to as “the Act”. 3. Section 2 of the Act is amended in the definition of the word “Minister” by deleting the word “Health” and substituting the words “Solid Waste Management”. 4. Schedule 3 to the Act is amended in (a) section 1 of the ANNEX by deleting subsection (1) and substituting the following “(1) The Corporation consists of the following five members: (a) the General Manager of the Dominica Port Authority; (b) a senior representative in the Ministry responsible for Solid Waste Management; (c) an Attorney-at-Law; and (d) two other persons.”; (b) section 2(1) of the ANNEX by deleting the word “three” and substituting the word “two”; (c) section 3 of the ANNEX by Interpretation. Chap. 42:06. Amendment of section 2. Amendment of Schedule 3. 2021 SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT 3 (AMENDMENT) 11 (i) deleting the word “members” and substituting the word “member”; and (ii) deleting the words “and (c)”.
