Yukon River and Alsek River Basin Agreements Act (R.S.Y. 2002, c. 241)

CHAPTER 241 CHAPITRE 241 YUKON RIVER AND ALSEK RIVER BASIN AGREEMENTS ACT LOI SUR LES ACCORDS RELATIFS AU FLEUVE YUKON ET AU BASSIN DE LA RIVIÈRE ALSEK Agreements Ententes 1(1) The Commissioner in Executive Council is hereby authorized to make agreements on behalf of the Government of the Yukon with any one or more of the Government of Canada or the government of a province about the study and use of water resources in the drainage basins of the Yukon River and the Alsek River. Without restricting the generality of the foregoing, the agreements may provide for (a) research, collection, and publication of data about water resources; (b) the conservation, development, and use of water resources; (c) the regulation and control of the quality and quantity of water resources; (d) the establishment and operation of intergovernmental committees. 1(1) Le commissaire en conseil exécutif est autorisé à conclure, pour le compte du gouvernement du Yukon, avec le gouvernement du Canada et celui d'une province, ou avec l'un de ceux-ci, des accords relatifs à l'étude et à l'utilisation des ressources en eau du bassin du fleuve Yukon et de celui de la rivière Alsek. Les accords peuvent notamment prévoir : a) la recherche, la collecte et la publication de données sur les ressources en eau; b) la conservation, la mise en valeur et l'utilisation des ressources en eau; c) la réglementation et le contrôle de la qualité et de la quantité des ressources en eau; d) la création et le fonctionnement de comités intergouvernementaux. (2) The Minister may sign the agreements on behalf of the Commissioner in Executive Council. (2) Le ministre peut signer les accords pour le compte du commissaire en conseil exécutif.
