(no amdt) ALBERTA REGULATION 162/2019 Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corporation Act ALBERTA INDIGENOUS OPPORTUNITIES CORPORATION REGULATION Eligible projects 1(1) The Corporation may only exercise the Corporation’s powers under section 2(6) of the Act if one or more indigenous groups are investing a total of at least $20 million in a specific natural resource project or related infrastructure. (2) For the purposes of subsection (1), the amount of any direct investment by the Corporation in a natural resource project or related infrastructure shall be considered to be and shall be calculated as part of the total amount of indigenous group investment in the project or related infrastructure. Grants and contributions 2(1) The Corporation may, in carrying out the Corporation’s mandate, only make a grant or contribution in accordance with a grant program established by the Corporation and approved by the Minister. (2) The Corporation shall not make a grant or contribution for the purpose of providing funds to purchase or invest in a natural resource project or related infrastructure. Expiry 3 For the purposes of ensuring that this Regulation is reviewed for ongoing relevancy and necessity, with the option that it may be repassed in its present or an amended form following a review, this Regulation expires on December 1, 2024.
