4. Validation of acts, decisions and omissions of the General Manager of the NHI Scheme, the Chairperson of the NHI Committee and the NHI Committee. No. 2] National Health Insurance (Validation) 5 No. 2 of 2025 I assent, Dame Froyla Tzalam Deputy Governor-General 19th December, 2024. AN ACT to validate the acts, decisions or omissions taken in relation to the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme; and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. (Gazetted 11th January, 2025) BE IT ENACTED, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives and Senate of Belize and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1. This Act may be cited as the Short title. NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE (VALIDATION) ACT, 2024. 6 National Health Insurance (Validation) [No. 2 Interpretation. 2. In this Act CAP. 44. “NHI Committee” means the National Health Insurance Committee established under section 75 of the Social Security Act; and CAP. 44. “NHI Scheme” means the National Health Insurance Scheme established under section 70 of the Social Security Act. Validation of 3.–(1) The NHI Scheme purportedly enacted by Act No. 31 acts, decisions and omissions of 2001 (Social Security (Amendment) Act, 2001) is deemed of the General to have been lawfully and validly enacted during the period Manager of the NHI Scheme. August 9th 2001 to August 31st 2007. CAP. 44. (2) Any service provided or received, any action taken, or any decision or omission made in relation to and in furtherance of the powers and functions under the NHI Scheme during the period August 9th 2001 to August 31st 2007 is deemed to have been lawfully and validly provided, received, taken or made. Validation of 4. Any act, decision or omission of the General Manager acts, decisions and omissions of the NHI Insurance Scheme, the Chairperson of the NHI of the General Committee or the NHI Committee pursuant to the Social Manager of the NHI Security Act, taken or made during the period January 7th Scheme, the 2008 to the date of commencement of the Social Security Chairperson of the NHI (Amendment) Act, 2024 shall be deemed to have been lawfully Committee and validly taken or made. and the NHI Committee.
