No. 110] BELIZE: Forests STATUTORY INSTRUMENT No. 110 of 1997 RULES made by the Minister of Natural Resources in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 5 of the Forests Act, Chapter 176 of the Laws of Belize, Revised Edition 1980-1990, and all other powers thereunto him enabling. (Gazetted 22nd November, 1997.) 1. These Rules may be cited as the FORESTS (AMENDMENT) RULES 1997, and shall be read and construed as one with the Forests Rules hereinafter referred to as the principal Rules. 2. The principal Rules are hereby amended by the addi tion of the following new rule immediately after rule 42: "42A. ( 1) Nothwithstanding the provisions contained in rule 42, Bread nut (Brosi mum alicastrum) shall be allowed to be felled where this tree species is included in the approved yield of a sustained yield licence, as defined under Rule 5(1 )( a) of these rules. (2) Felling of this tree shall not be allowed under any other type of licence. Short title. Sub. Ll•g, Vol. IV. Ch. 176 P.41 S.I. 135/1900 S.I. 56/1995. Addition of new rnle 42A. 2 Forests [No. 110 (3) The minimum felling girth shall be 72 inches and the royalty rate for this species shall be $0.30 per cubic foot (true cylindrical volume under bark)."
