4. Commencement of section 20. No. 6] Fiscal Incentives 35 No. 6 of 2025 I assent, Governor-General 11th February, 2025. AN ACT to amend the Fiscal Incentives Act, Act No. 4 of 2023; to allow registered co-operative societies to be eligible to receive fiscal incentives; and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. (Gazetted 11th February, 2025). BE IT ENACTED, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives and Senate of Belize and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1. This Act may be cited as the, Short title. FISCAL INCENTIVES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2025, 36 Fiscal Incentives [No. 6 Act No. 4 and shall be read and construed as one with the Fiscal of 2023. 41 of 2023. Incentives Act, which, as amended, is hereinafter referred to as the principal Act. Amendment of 2. Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by– section 2. (a) deleting the definition of approved enterprise and substituting the following– ““approved enterprise” means an undertaking, a registered society, company, or person in respect of which a Fiscal Incentive Order has been made under this Act;” and (b) by inserting the following term and its corresponding definition in its proper alphabetical sequence– “registered society” has the meaning assigned to CAP. 313. it under the Co-Operatives Societies Act;”. Amendment of 3. Section 20 of the principal Act is amended by deleting section 20. the words “on or before October 31, 2024” and replacing them with the words “on or before October 31, 2025”. Commencement 4. The amendment to section 20 shall be deemed to have of section 20. come into force on the 31st day of October 2024. Printed in Belize by the Government Printer #1 Power Lane, Belmopan
