Repeal and replacement of Schedules I, III and VI. a e No. 17] Environmental Protection BELIZE: STATUTORY INSTRUMENT No. 17 of 2022 REGULATIONS made by the Minister responsible for the environment after consultation with the Department of Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 7 of the Environmental Protection Act, Chapter 328 of the Substantive Laws of Belize, Revised Edition 2020, and all other powers thereunto him enabling. (Gazetted 22nd January, 2022). 1. These Regulations may be cited as the ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION (POLLUTION FROM PLASTICS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2022, and shall be read and construed as one with the Environmental Protection (Pollution from Plastics) Regulations, 2020, hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations. 2. The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 2 by repealing the definition of “national standards” and replacing it with the following 66 66 national standards” includes— (a) the Belize Standard for Biodegradable Products-Specifications and Labelling declared a compulsory standard in accordance with Standards (Belize Standard for Biodegradable and Citation. S.I. 8 of 2020. S.I. 124 of 2020. Amendment of regulation 2. Environmental Protection [No. 17 Amendment of regulation 33. Repeal and replacement of Schedules I, III and VI. S.1. 127 of 2021. (b) S.I. 126 of 2021. Labelling (BZS 32:2021)) (Declaration of Compulsory Standard) Order, 2021; and the Belize Standard for Terms Used in the Biodegradable Products Industry declared a compulsory standard in accordance with Ctandar (Ralize Ctandard far Defin tian StanGarGs (Belize o1anGgarG tor wemniiion of Terms Used in the Biodegradable Products Industry (BZS 36:2021)) (Declaration of Compulsory Standard) Order, 2021;”. 3. The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 33 (a) in paragraph (b), by deleting the words “January 15, 2021” and substituting the words “January 31, 2022”; (b) in paragraph (c), by deleting the words “April 15, 2021” and substituting the words “February 28, 2022”; an d (c) in paragraph (d), by deleting the words “July 14, 2021” and substituting the words “March 31, 2022”. 4.
