4. Amendment of section 28 of the Act An Act to amend the Botswana Power Corporation Act. Date of Assent: 26.09.2016 Date of Commencement: ON NOTICE ENACTED by the Parliament of Botswana. Short title and 1. This Act may be cited as the Botswana Power Corporation commencement (Amendment) Act, 2016, and shall come into operation on such date as the Minister may, by Order published in the Gazette, appoint. Amendment 2. The Botswana Power Corporation Act (hereinafter referred to as of section 2 of Cap. 74:01 "the Act") is amended, in section 2, by - (a) inserting, in the correct alphabetical order, the following new definition - ""Authority" means the Botswana Energy Regulatory Act No. 13 Authority established under the Botswana Energy o/2016 Regulatory Authority Act;"; and (b) substituting for the definition of the words "main transmission lines", the following new definition - ""main transmission lines" means all cables and overhead lines, whether constructed or due to be constructed, for the transmission of electricity from a generating station to any other generating station or to a substation, together with any step-up or step-down transformers and switch-gear necessary to and used for the control of such cables or overhead lines, and the buildings, or such part thereof as may be required to accommodate such transformers or switch-gear, which the Authority may declare by notice published in the Gazette to be main transmission lines". Amendment 3. Section 18 of the Act is amended by substituting for the section, of section 18 of the Act the following new section - 157 "Display of 18. The Corporation shall, with the approval of the Tariffs Authority, publish tariffs at which it supplies electricity.".
4. Section 28 of the Act is hereby deleted. Amendment of section 28 of the Act PASSED by the National Assembly this 8th day of August, 2016. BARBARA N. DITHAPO, Clerk of the National Assembly. 158
