Regulation/GM No. 086 dividing the water courses of the Paraiba do Sul River Hydrographic Basin into different classes

REGULATION/GM NO. 086, OF 4 JUNE 1981 THE STATE MINISTER OF THE INTERIOR, in exercise of his powers, at the proposal of the Special Committee for Integrated Hydrographic Basins Studies - CEEIBH, recommended by the Special Secretariat for the Environment: In view of the studies conducted by the Executive Committee for Integrated Studies of the Paraiba do Sul River Basin - CEEIVAP; Whereas Regulation/GM No. 0013, of 15 January 1976, of the Ministry of the Interior classifies domestic waters of the national Territory into four classes, in accordance with their predominant use; Whereas the Paraiba do Sul River Hydrographic Basin is listed as a critical pollution area in Article 8 of Decree No. 76.389, of 3 October 1975; RESOLVES: To divide the water courses of the Paraiba do Sul River Hydrographic Basin into the following classes: I - PARAIBA DO SUL RIVER, from its headwaters to the Santa Branca dam - class "1" II - PARAIBA DO SUL RIVER, from the Santa Branca dam to the city of Campos, in the State of Rio de Janeiro - class "2" III - PARAIBA DO SUL RIVER, from the city of Campos to its mouth - class "3" IV - PARAIBUNA RIVER, from its headwaters to the Chapeu D'Uvas dam, in the Municipality of Juiz de Fora - class "1" V - PARAIBUNA RIVER, from the Chapeu D'Uvas to its confluence with the Paraiba do Sul River - class "2" VI - PRETO RIVER, from its headwaters to its confluence with the Ribeirao da Prata - class "1" VII - PRETO RIVER, from its confluence with the Ribeirao da Prata to its confluence with the Paraibuna River - class "2" VIII - POMBA RIVER, from its headwaters to its confluence with the Paraiba do Sul River class "2" IX - MURIAE RIVER, from its headwaters to its confluence with the Paraiba do Sul River class "2" X - PARAPETINGA RIVER, from its headwaters to its confluence with the Paraiba do Sul River - class "2" XI - BANANAL RIVER, from its headwaters to the city of Bananal - class "1" XII - BANANAL RIVER, from the city of Bananal to its confluence with the Paraiba do Sul River - class "2" XIII - CARANGOLA RIVER, from its headwaters to its confluence with the Muriae River class "2"
