THE ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES (STORAGE, KEEPING AND DISPOSAL) ORDER, 1973 (Notification No, 8(101 )/PA/Sccy(C) 22nd March, 1973) 2. Definitions~ In this Order, unless there is anything rcpugnanl in the subject or contexl. (a) "border belt" means the area extending up to rive lllilcs inside Bangladesh from its border, hut does not include any districts or subdivisional headquarters within such area; 3. Storage, keeping and disposal of infant and patient food and allied article (l) No importer or producer of or dealer in infant or patient food or allied article shall keep such food or article in his possession or under hil'> control for more than thirty days from lhe Jatc of receipt or production of such food or article, as the case may he. (2) No dealer in infant or patient food or allied article shall keep in his possession or under his control any infant or patient food or allied article in excess of seven hundred rifly pounds or, in the border belt, twenty-five pounds at a time. 15. Power to search, inspect, etc.• The Director may. with a view to securing compliance with this Ordcr, (a) require any importer or producer of or dealer in essential commodity mentioned in this Ordef to give such infonnation as the Director may specify wilh respect to any business carried on by him; (h) inspect or cause to be inspected any book or other record or document relating to any business carried on by any importer or producer of or dealer in any essential commodity mentioned in this Order; (c) enter and search or authorise any person to enter and search any premises, vehicle or vessel and seize or take into possession or authorise any person Lo sei1c or take into possession any essentittl commodity mentioned in this Order, in respect of which he has reason to believe that contravention of this Order has been, is being or ahout to be committed, or any record connected therewilh. Note : This Order has heen framed in exercise of the powers conferred h y section 3 of the Control of Essential Commodities Act. 1956.
