Ask the research
Swiss-refined bars (mainly 1 kg LBMA 995) moving to India through nominated banks/agencies or IIBX non-TRQ contracts. The EFTA-India TEPA has been in force since 1 Oct 2025 but gives no effective concession on gold (1-point cut on a 40% bound rate, above the applied rate), so the pair gets ordinary treatment (15% combined duty from 13 May 2026 plus 3% IGST per the in module). Swiss LBMA bars cannot be used for India-UAE CEPA TRQ contracts on IIBX. Switzerland is India's largest recorded source of unwrought gold.
