How we think about responsible supply chains

Our approach is grounded in OECD due diligence guidance and LBMA responsible sourcing standards. Here's a look at the frameworks that shape our work.

Risk-Based Due Diligence
OECD guidance asks companies to identify, assess, and document supply chain risk, then choose due diligence steps proportionate to that risk. It doesn't promise 100% certainty on conflict-free status — it focuses on demonstrable, reasonable effort.
Responsible Sourcing Standards
The LBMA's Responsible Gold Guidance, developed in line with OECD guidance, sets the bar refiners must meet to stay on the accredited list that financial markets rely on. Its ~130 members span trading houses, banks, refiners, miners, and fabricators.
Supporting Artisanal Mining
Artisanal mining is often the only livelihood available in a region. Responsible sourcing means protecting that livelihood while addressing environmental impact, worker safety, and fair compensation for communities affected by mining.
Closing the Technology Gap
Producing regions with less developed technical infrastructure need flexibility and time, not exclusion. Bringing in the right investors to build that infrastructure benefits producers, refiners, and the markets that depend on their supply.
