Volume 26, Cap. 467) The Zambezi River Authority (Water Tariffs) By-laws, 1999 IN ExrncrsE of the powers conferred upon the Zambezi River Authority by article IO of the Schedule to the Zambezi River Authority Act. and with the approval of the Council of Ministers. the following By-laws are hereby made: 261 I. These By-laws may be cited as the Zambezi River Authority Ti1le (Water Tariffs) By-laws. 1999. ., In these By-laws. unless the context otherwise requires .. utility " means the ZESCO Limited or the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority. lntcrprc1a 1ion J. A utility shall pay a water tariff as calculated under By-law 4. Water tariff 4. The water tariff shall be Y = aX + b. where- Formula for I a J " Y " represents the annual revenue in dollars; (hJ" a" represents the tariff for the year in dollars per cubic metre as contained in the Water Purchase Agreement between Zambezi River Authority and the utilities: I c J " X " represents the volume of water used for generation of electricity in cubic metres: and (d)" b" represents the fixed charge in dollars. 5. A utility that over-utilises its annual water allocation shall pay a penalty to be agreed upon between the Authority and the utilities.
