I hereby delegate, by virtue of the powers vested in me in terms of section 43{1} of the World Heritage Convention Act, 1999 (Act No.49 of 1999), to SANParks to exercise only those powers and duties referred to in section 13(2) of the Act in connection with the Mapungubwe Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site. It is a savannah landscape located at the confluence of the Limpopo and Shashe rivers. Geographical coordinates: The coordinates for the core of Mapungubwe Cultural Landscape are the following: NW corner 22°12'56''S 29°08'22"E NE corner 22° 10'1 0"S 29°29'04"E SE corner 22°14'15"S 29°31'35"E SW corner 22°17'40"S 29°12'00"E Description of the site (See attached Diagram) The Core: The Core stretches eastwards from Pont Drift in the west for about 35km to Schroda in the east, and stretches southwards mostly less than 1 0 km from the Limpopo River in the north to the tarred road linking Pont Drift and Messina in the south. The 24 original farms, some of which have been subdivided over the years, comprise 28 168.66 ha. The Core: Moving in a clockwise direction: Starting at point A at Pont Drift and follow the international boundary between South Africa and Zimbabwe in an eastern direction up to point B, an unsurveyed point in the north western corner of the irrigated land of the farm Weipe 47 MS.
