WATER CODE - WAT DIVISION 3. DAMS AND RESERVOIRS [6000 - 6501] ( Heading of Division 3 amended by Stats. 1965, Ch. 1225. ) PART 2. FISHWAYS OVER DAMS [6500 - 6501] ( Part 2 enacted by Stats. 1943, Ch. 368. ) 6500. Whenever an application for approval of plans and specifications for a new dam, or for the enlargement of any dam, in any stream in this State, is filed pursuant to Part 1 of this division, a copy of the application shall be filed with the Fish and Game Commission as required by the Fish and Game Code. (Enacted by Stats. 1943, Ch. 368.) 6501. The provisions for the installation of fishways over or around dams and for the protection and preservation of fish in streams obstructed by dams are contained in Chapter 3 (commencing with Section 5900), Part 1, Division 6 of the Fish and Game Code.
