This Order may be cited as the Forest Resources and Timber {;\i!isation (Exemption) (Vangunu Island) Order 2011, and commences on the date of publication in the Go.z,efle. 2. (1) The felling of trees and removal of timber and timber products from an area approved under subparagraph (2) in the land belonging to Tobakokorapa Tribe on Vangunu Island in the Western Province for the purposes of clearing timber trees for cattle farming purposes are exempted from the provisions of section 4 of the Act. (2) Xe clear felling shall be undenaken under subparagraph (I) unless the Commissioner gives prior written approval of the area to be cleared subject to the following conditions (a) the area to be cleared for caUJe farming to be dearly marked on a map given to the Commissioner; (b) no extension for additional area to be cleurcd Lo be granted unlil the cattle farming development has been done in the approved area already elearcd 10 the satisfaction of the Commissioner and 1he Ministry responsible for Agriculture; (c) other conditions necessary to implement the cattle farming development purpose. as the Commissioner may impose. {3) 1be whole area exempted under this Order shall not exceed 5,000 hectares. {4) A person who contravenes this paragraph is deemed to have committed an offence under section 4 of the Act, as if the exemption were not granted under this Order.
