05 I Natural Resources and Natural Resource Management 786 Environmental Law in Pakistan I Northern Areas 5.1.3.4 Fisheries Rules amendment (KANA Notification No. F.12(5) / 2001-NA-II dated 13 July 2002) TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE NEXT ISSUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GAZETTE OF PAKISTAN NO.F-12(5)/2001-NA-II GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN Kashmir Affairs & Notification Areas and States & Frontier Regions Division Islamabad the 13th July 2002 NOTIFICATION Whereas it is expedient to make, amendments and additions in the Northern Areas Fisheries Rule 197 Now, therefore, the Provincial Government for Northern Areas is pleased to make the following amendments, substitutions and additions in the Northern Areas Fisheries Rules, 197, which shall come into force at once: Section 4(1) Destruction of Fish by explosive In the existing proviso of rule 4(1) of the aforesaid rules after the words “closed season “the words” for local fish “ shall be inserted and the following new proviso shall be added. “Provided further that the period from 10th October to 9th March each year shall be closed season during which no fishing of trout shall be permissible. Similarly from 1st to 15th May each year shall be closed season during which no fishing of carp shall be permissible. Section 7 Fees for the licences For rule-7 of the aforesaid rule, the following shall be substituted and section 19 of the rules shall be construed to have been deleted. 7. The Fees for licences specified in rule-4 shall be as follows: A. For Trout Fish (Rainbow & Brown) (Subsistence licence) 1. For Foreigners: (a) Daily licence fee $ 10 -do (b) Weekly licence fee $ 30 -do (c) Monthly licence fee $ 100 -do Carp Fish: (a) Red & Line daily licence fee Rs. 50/- -do (b) Cost net daily licence fee Rs. 200/- -do (c) Cost net monthly licence fee Rs. 1000/- -do (d) Cost net seasonal licence fee Rs. 5000/- -do Local Fish: (Subsistence Licence) Rod and Line (a) Daily licence fee Rs. 20/- -do (b) Monthly licence fee Rs. 200/- -do (c) Seasonal licence fee Rs. 500/- -do Long line with Hooks (a) Seasonal fee Rs. 200/- -do Forecast Net Fishing (Subsistence licence) (a) Daily licence fee Rs. 100/- -do (b) Monthly licence fee Rs. 500/- -do (c) Seasonal licence fee Rs. 2000/- -do Gill net Fishing (Commercial Licence) (a) Daily licence fee Rs. 5000/- -do (b) Monthly licence fee Rs. 15000/- -do 05 I Natural Resources and Natural Resource Management 788 Environmental Law in Pakistan I Northern Areas Part-III – Trout Water Rule-16 Divisions of Tourt Waters Rule 16 of the aforesaid rules, following trout waters shall be added under the relevant district. (a) Dhee Nullah Gojal Hunza and its tributaries (b) Damote Nullah Sai ii) Lakes: (a) Upper Nowpura lakies No.1,2,3 (b) Burmas Tapi lake and lati lake (c) Roung Dadar and Chilali lake in Kargah Nullah (d) Doodroo Sai in Damote Nullah (e) Kutwal and Jutial in Haramosh (f) Bunji Sarkon lake.
