AN ACT entitled Conservation Areas (Amendment) Act 2014, Being an Act to amend the Conservation Areas Act (Chapter 362), MADE by the National Parliament to come into operation on the same day as the Conservation and Environment Protection Authority Act 2014 comes into operation. 1. INTERPRETATION (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 2). Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended (a) by repealing the definition of "authority" and replacing it with the following new definition: ""Authority" means the Conservation and Environment Authority established under the Conservation and Environment Protection Authority Act 2014;"; and (b) by inserting after the definition of "environment" the following new definition: ""governmental body" includes a Minister, a Departmental Head, a statutory authority or body, a provincial government, local-level government or district body or authority;"; and (c) by inserting after the definition of "management plan" the following new definition: ""Managing Director" means the Managing Director of the Authority;". 2. AMENDMENT OF SECTIONS 18,19, 20 AND 24. The Principal Act is amended by repealing "Minister" in Sections 18, 19, 20(2) and 24 whenever it appears and replacing it with "Managing Director". 3. REPEAL AND REPLACEMENT OF SECTION 22. Section 22 of the Principal Act is repealed and replaced with the following new section: "22. CERTIFICATE EVIDENCE OF REGISTRATION. (1) The Managing Director may issue a certificate in the prescribed form certifying that an area described in the certificate has been registered in the Register. (2) A certificate issued under Subsection (1) shall be received in all courts of justice as evidence of the particulars contained in it.". 4. REPEAL OF SECTION 23. Section 23 of the Principal Act is repealed.
