Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for Area/ Rohe Moana of Tapaeururangi and Te Whānau a Kauaetangohia) Notice 2018 Pursuant to regulation 9 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Minister of Fisheries gives the following notice. Contents Page 1 Title 1 2 Commencement 1 3 Customary food gathering area/rohe moana 1 4 Tangata whenua 2 5 New appointments 2 Notice 1 Title This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for Area/ Rohe Moana of Tapaeururangi and Te Whānau a Kauaetangohia) Notice 2018. 2 Commencement This notice comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. 3 Customary food gathering area/rohe moana This notice applies to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana in the New Zealand fisheries waters (except South Island fisheries waters) within the fol lowing lines: (a) from the starting point at 37°32.550′S and 178°4.900′E; then (b) by a line in a due north direction to a point approximately 12 nautical miles offshore at 37°20.400ʹS and 178°4.900′E; then 2018/41 1 http://prd-lgnz-nlb.prd.pco.net.nz/pdflink.aspx?id=DLM268634 http://prd-lgnz-nlb.prd.pco.net.nz/pdflink.aspx?id=DLM267986 http://prd-lgnz-nlb.prd.pco.net.nz/pdflink.aspx?id=DLM267986 (c) proceeding in a generally easterly direction by a line, each point of which is 12 nautical miles from the mean high-water mark, to a point offshore at 37°20.365′S and 178°5.262′E; then (d) by a line in a due south direction to a point at 37°32.580′S and 178°5.262′E; then (e) by a line proceeding in a generally westerly direction along the mean high-water mark back to the starting point. 4 Tangata whenua The tangata whenua of the area/rohe moana are Tapaeururangi, as represented by the Potaka Marae Committee, and Te Whānau a Kauaetangohia Hapū. 5 New appointments (1) The Minister of Fisheries has appointed the following people as Tāngata Kai tiaki/Tiaki for the area/rohe moana: (a) Winstone Waititi: (b) Rika Mato: (c) Jimmy Kemp: (d) Tana Haerewa: (e) Rawiri Wikuki Waititi: (f) Steve Neilson.
