These regulations, which come into force on 16 July 2024, amend the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (Exemptions and Prohibited Substances) Amendment Regulations 2022 (the 2022 amendments). The 2022 amendments provide a 2-year exemption from the need to register certain inhibitor substances as a trade name product under section 21 or 27 of the Agricul‐ tural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 (the Act). The exemption applies to inhibitor substances that are listed in the Schedule of the Agricultural Com‐ pounds and Veterinary Medicines (Inhibitor Substances) Order 2022 and were for sale in New Zealand on 18 July 2022 and were not otherwise registered. The exemption is due to expire on 17 July 2024. These regulations amend the 2022 amendments to extend the exemption by approxi‐ mately 2 years to 1 July 2026.
